Myke and Allison Travel: Colorado Recap + Lots of Pictures

Thursday started at 2:30am for Myke and I as we made our way to LAX for our 6:05 flight to Colorado, with a lay over in Las Vegas. We were exhausted all through out the morning, for obvious reasons, but we made the whole trip and met up with Mom, Dad, Aunt Christy, and Uncle Tom and we all made our way to our hotels. Mom found a beautiful loft in the middle of Denver, right on 16th street for those of you who know the area. Mom found an amazing restaurant called the Kitchen for dinner and it was nothing short of delicious. We were joined by the graduate and we ate and ate some more. Enjoyed a light show aka lightening storm. It was beautiful looking out from our warm loft.

The next day was the actual graduation, but I will get more into that in tomorrow’s post. However that morning, Myke and I walked to the second location of one of our favorite places-VooDoo Doughnuts. We went to the location in Portland on our honeymoon, so this place holds a very special place in our hearts. Plus it was National Doughnut Day so we technically had to. My all time fav doughnut from there is captain my captain-captain crunch on a doughnut. A close second and third is the coco puff doughnut and m&m (pictured below). We also stumbled across the beautiful capital building.

Saturday we had a get together at the loft we were staying at with my parents, aunt and uncle, my other aunt and uncle and my grandmother. We were also joined by a family that were pastors at our old home church that moved to Boulder. They treated Sarah like one of their own while she was living there.

After everyone left, Mom, Dad, Aunt Judy, Uncle John, Myke, and I went for another walk to a store and then went home and Mom and Dad and us watched Jurassic Park on TV and ate together one last time.

I cannot wait to go back and explore this city again, for a much longer time and to eat a lot more! Thanks for the fun times Denver!

Come back tomorrow to read about my sister’s graduate ceremony.
