Blog,  Let's Go

Destination: Santa Barbara

After our amazing Pismo trip, my parents took us to Santa Barbara. My parents wanted to take us there because they were looking for a getaway and they wanted to see us. They also wanted to make this their “birthday present” to us. Santa Barbara is an oasis for my mom and dad. That’s where they met and where my sister went to college. So it holds a special place in my family.
So here we go with more pictures.

My mom has gotten into this tradition of not staying in a hotel. So she went online and found a cute little house for rent on VRBO, Vacation Rental By Owner. The house was super cute! I just took pictures of the room that Myke and I stayed in. It was one of two small bedrooms and then my parents stayed in the master bedroom.

I was particularly proud of this outfit I put together. I have been trying to do bolder outfits, hopefully some skirts may come into play, but I have to start out somewhere. It may not go together, but I felt cool in it. Isn’t that what matters?

My sister and I had every single one of these.
I loved these things! I was rather excited I found this in the house.
Our first night we ate at Cava’s. We went there for my sister’s graduation and loved it! It is amazing Mexican food. Even their chips, chunky salsa, and guacamole is amazing! I ordered a chicken quesadilla with guacamole and a chipotle sauce. It was amazing!!

We ordered two desserts and spilt them. We ordered the chocolate cake and my parents ordered the creme brule. Both are amazing!

My grandma sent my birthday present. Some of the movies I was raised on were Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers movies. My sister and I would dance in front of the TV with Fred and Ginger. I love this book! She found it online and it is the perfect coffee table book for me. Now all I need is a coffee table.

Our day was filled with shopping and frozen yogurt. It was a beautiful day!

Our dinner and dessert for our last night. Yes, those are shrimp wrapped in bacon. My dessert was an eclair from this cute french bakery near the house we were staying at.

Beautiful flowers. I wish I had these in my home all the time.

This dress was given to me for my birthday from my friend Brigette. I love it!! It has a lace back as well, I’m thinking about doing a post about it very soon. Along with my other clothes my mommy blessed me with buying.

Our Father’s Day breakfast was Coffee Bean. We are very very simple people. Dad wanted a cup of coffee and to be with family. We got him is coffee and gave cards to my daddy. Myke got the Cake Batter blended drink with a black and white muffin. Basically 700 calories of amazingness! Black and white chocolate over a chocolate chip muffin. I got a cappuccino with cinnamon on top and a bagel. Everything was good as always.

Then we had to say goodbye. I’m not going to lie to you, I cried when we left my parents. It was good to see them and spend time with them. They mean a lot to me and I miss them terribly. Both set of parents live in northern California and we don’t see them too often. It was good to spend time with both sets of parents.
Thus ends our great two weekends of vacation with the parental units.
Thank you parents from the bottom of my heart. I love you both with all my heart. You are both blessings in Myke and my lives.
