Sacramento: Ice Blocks
When I was growing up, you only went downtown to R street to go to Ace of Spades to see a band play. Now, the area is known as the Ice Blocks and there are some fantastic restaurants, coffee shops (love some Philz), and stores that Myke and I are excited to check out.
The other day, Myke and I decided to take the girls on a little afternoon date to the Ice Blocks. We went to Mendicino Farms for lunch which is one of my favorite food places in LA and I was so excited to see there was one in Sacramento. I have never had a bad dish from there so I would recommend just about everything there.
After we had lunch, we went to Milk Money to try their donuts and ice cream. They are one of those places that once they sell out, they are sold out, so we didn’t get a chance to try the donuts, but we had some ice cream, which was pretty good. Since Myke wasn’t in the mood for ice cream and his sweet tooth wasn’t sated, we made our way to Creamy’s, an adorable little cart that sold mini cheesecakes. It’s run by Cayla, whom I started following on Instagram simply because I love baking and she is in Sacramento. If you come to R Street, make your way to the little cart across from the Starbucks-you will not be disappointed. They are small, sweet, and melt in your mouth delicious.
