Myke and Allison Adventures: Granada Hills Grubfest

We are starting a new series, Myke and Allison Adventures. We had been wanting to find some fun activities to do around LA and we thought we would share it on the blogs. One of Myke’s coworkers let him in on what I believe to be the golden secret of the valley. Every Wednesday and Friday night, about 20 food trucks line up on Chatsworth in Granada Hills and the Granada Hills Grubfest goes from 5-10pm. We tried three different trucks and we have more then a few excuses to go back and try more. The trucks sign up that day, so most of the time there are different ones every week. The three trucks we partook in were Cousins Maine Lobster, Tornado Potato, and Be Waffle.

Cousins Maine Lobster was a business that we had seen on the show Shark Tank and really wanted to try and find a truck and try it. I love me som lobster no matter what and we were beyond excited that we actually find a truck. We had the famous Maine Lobster roll and the Conneticut Lobster roll, one was warm and the other was cold, both on toasted sourdough bread. Both amazing!

Myke really wanted to try this truck. Tornado Potato essentially makes a potato like a pin wheel, fried, and you can choose a flavored powder to go on top. He chose cheddar cheese. I am not the biggest powdered cheese fan, so I did not have as much as Myke, but I did like it, but I had my eye on dessert…

You could smell this truck a mile away and it smelled glorious! This waffle had the perfect blend of soft on the inside and super crunchy on the outside. Mine had strawberries, bananas, and chocolate. Myke had chocolate, bananas, and whip cream. The couple who runs the truck are so sweet and I cannot wait to try them again!
