Myke and Allison Adventure: California Science Center & Endeavour
When I was in elementary school, my class went to on a field trip. We got to go to a mission control simulator and got to see what it would be actually like to work at NASA. I loved it. For a while, I wanted to do that as a career, unfortuently my grades did not meet the cut. I love reading and learning more about space and what is out there. I have always been fascinated by that. So when the Endeavour was on its way to the California Science Center here in LA, I was beyond excited and have been wanting to see it since day 1 it was here. Myke and I finally got around to having a free day to go.
The Science Center requires guests to make a reservation on weekends and holidays to go and see the Endeavour, so while Myke and I were waiting for our time, we visited the rest of the Science Center. Myke loves science and was like a kid in a candy store. Some exhibits included seeing animals and the climate in desert, artic, and LA. My favorite every time is the aquarium. Fish are such gracious creatures. My mind was occupied the whole time, I wanted to see the Endeavour. When we finally got in, we started by watching a video of how they got the shuttle to the actual museum. It took them 68 hours, insane. The exhibit did not dissapoint. My jaw dropped the second I saw the shuttle through the door. It blows my mind every time I think about that I stood underneath a space shuttle. We live in an incredible world.
If you live in LA, I would reccomend the Endeavour exhibit as well as the California Science Center. We had a blast walking about the museum and being so close to something in American history.
