Weekend Update and Music.

I feel different after this weekend. Friday night, Myke and I stayed in, mostly because we knew that Saturday was going to be a long day. Saturday was our church leadership meeting and we knew we were going to be there most of the day. Little did we both know that we were going to be there until 5:30pm. Most people would find this to be strange, but we loved it. We had a meeting with our pastor and his wife and then his wife and I broke off from the boy’s meeting and went and did some things for our Women of Hope Tea Party that we are doing in August. I am so looking forward to this event. I love tea and the idea of a tea party makes me smile. It is going to be an amazing outreach and a wonderful time for the ladies of our church and outside the church.

Sunday was another special day in the book of our church. It was Baptism Sunday and for those of you who do not know what that is, it is a time when people who choose to be baptized in water and proclaim Jesus as their Lord and in a sense leaving their old life behind. We had two couples that are just amazing people, three youths and one young lady whom I have made a special connection with. She had decided to be baptized and start over again and I cannot be more excited to see what life has in store for her.

It was also my first Sunday teaching the older kids, however since it was a special Sunday, most of the kids went to the first service and so I had the pleasure of teaching the pastor’s kids and Myke came and did worship for the kids. They loved it. It was so fun to see them jump around while Myke played guitar. Then We had a hostess meeting for the tea and Myke and I stayed until about 5, again. Can you tell we kinda like our church? I was super nervous about teaching the kids, I don’t’ know why I can’t so nervous in front of kids. But my friend left me a little note and that made me feel better.

This morning I woke up and I felt different. I felt a little more confidence in myself and a little better about life. I still have absolutely no idea where my life is heading and I am still scared, but I have an extra peace about the whole process. Also if you are in the market for a great worship album, I would highly Jordan and Kristin Rippy EP Seek You First. I have been listening to it whenever I have the chance this weekend and I kid you not when I say, it is one of the most beautiful and refreshing worship albums I have heard in a while. They are worship leaders at Taylor and Niana’s church in Florida. Seriously, check them out!
