Valentine’s Day Adventures
While sitting in a Dine in movie theater in Marina Del Ray, I had a revelation. This is the first Valentine’s Day and night that I have not had to work. That automatically made the entire day better. Myke had a beautiful day planned and I have to say he did not disappoint.
We started out the day sleeping in and then Myke went and got gas for the car. He came back with roses and my gift. I love when he knocks on the door and then asks me to be his valentine. It’s one of my favorite parts of the day, we then opened our presents and then we made our way to Marina Del Ray. When we got there, we got our tickets for the movie, Kingsman: The Secret Service and did some exploring. To give you the main reason why we picked Marina Del Ray to spend the day in. It is the only theater in California that has the Dining experience. On our honeymoon in Portland, we found this really cute theater where you can order dinner before the movie and they will deliver it about 15 minutes into the movie. You can also order alcoholic beverages and you can also stick with the regular popcorn and soda. Myke went with a Southwest style mac and cheese and I went with the bacon cheeseburger. Both were delicious and we both didn’t feel stuffed at the end of the movie. The seats reclined so in my opinion there really isn’t a bad seat in the house. The only thing I would say as a disclaimer is if you do not like noise or people walking around during a movie, just be prepared. The waiters do their best to stay out of their way and it is much appreciated. The noise is from the silverware hitting the plastic plates, but it didn’t bother us too much since we were expecting it.
While we were waiting for the movie, we found this adorable organic coffee shop and walked around Barnes and Noble. We found some books to add to our Audible account and looked through some fun books. Our last stop before the movie was me getting some pretty sweet leopard Vans, which I’m in love with.
The movie was awesome and the movie experience was even better! We decided that it may not be the best every week experience, it is definitely a good splurge. To give you a little perspective: our tickets were $15 a piece for an afternoon movie, but tickets for the 8 pm show that we were originally going for were $20 a pop. We are debating what movie would be good to see there next.
