Parents for a Day + Hercules
This past Saturday, we were parents for a day to Ariana and Mikah, our senior pastor’s kids. I have to admit, there was a part of me that was a little nervous. I had only watched after them a couple times before and I always get nervous when I watch after someone else’s kids. I think it’s because I eventually do want to become a mom and every time I think about it I get really nervous. However it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. We took them to the California Science Center for a couple hours. It was so hot outside, we decided to stay indoors for most of the day. After we all started to fade, we took them to the store and they picked out their pizza toppings because when we got home, we made our own pizza dough and our own pizza. We watched Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 (which was amazing) and then we went outside and made s’mores. It was their first time making s’mores that way so we were excited to share a Clements tradition with them. We took them upstairs and got them ready for bed and then Mom and Dad picked them up a couple hours later. We loved having them and we talked about it the rest of the weekend. They are such great kids.
Another highlight of our weekend included seeing Hercules Friday night on the Paramount lot and we loved it. I was very impressed at how awesome it was. The effects were beautiful on the big screen and 3D. It was a great action packed summer movie that included some really funny humor. We had fun and laughed. It was a nice little date night for us.
