My New Make Up Part 1

People who know me also know that I’m not a big make up person. I don’t normally buy make up for myself unless I run out of essential staples (moisturizer and mascara are the most popular). So the fact that I went out specifically to get make up not once, but THREE times is a really big deal for me. That’s why this is the start of a three part series: My New Make Up.

To start off this series, I should explain why I’m starting this adventure. As I have mentioned many times on the blog, I got a new job. The idea of the job is that it will potentially lead to a full time job.

I was feeling that I needed to update my entire look, so what better time to start when you are starting a new job and trying to impress the people around you. Plus when you wear a uniform, you need to be your own person in another way.

So my first adventure was to the CVS up the street. There was a buy one get one for 50% off. So I looked into eye shadow and some mascara because both were badly needed. I’m a big fan of Aubrey over at The Kinch Life. She is so wonderful! I love her posts, pictures, and her in general. She posted a make up post a while back and had used these two products and I figured if they were good enough for her, I could use them too.

Maybelline Color Tattoo, Barely Branded. I was originally looking for a pallet of different colors, but when I saw the way this looked on Aubrey, I figured I would use this every day. And I do!
I started wearing it the minute I got home and I have worn it every day since. I was looking for an eyeshadow that would make my eyes look bold, but not as much color, so I could have color for special occasions. If you are looking for a nice, simple, and easy to put on eye shadow, this is a great option!

Maybelline Rocket mascara, Very Black. Again, thank you Aubrey. I was actually going to try this, but I was a little worried about trying a new mascara, but I usually used Maybelline Great Lashes, which is an amazing product! I was just looking for something new. It goes on smooth and without clumps! Gotta love that!

Obviously, I need to thank Aubrey for telling us about these products. You are a true inspiration to me, my blog, and now my life. Thank you!!

Stay tuned for part 2!

Yay! Congrats, and more importantly, HAVE FUN with it! Starting with a neutral pallette is always great, as it gives you room to play with before taking on some seriously bold color. I prefer mineral makeups from small mom-and-pop shops, but I heard good things about Maybelline Color Tattoo.
