Music and Life

Music doesn’t lie. If there is something to be changed in this world, then it can only happen through music. -Jimi Hendrix

I can’t believe I have had this blog for a month and haven’t written anything about music. I’m not by any means a musician, I have been surrounded by music my whole life. I have been in choir since I was about 6 years old and I have sung in Christmas concerts and other random choir concerts. I do miss singing because it is one of the ways that I worship God and I love doing it. I used to play piano and I’m hoping to start playing again soon.

I love listening to music. I listen to music constantly through my daily activities. I have a lot of favorite bands and a lot of favorite generes of music. There are people who listen to the music in music and there are some people that listen to the lyrics of the music, I’m a person who listens to both. There are bands that I listen to for their musical abilities, there are some I listen to for their lyrics, and there are some where I love both. One of the bands where I love both are the Beatles. I have listened to the Beatles my whole life. In my opinion they are the best band that ever lived-the way they were and the way they formed to the world around them was so awesome. I also have an emotional connection with them-my uncle is a big Beatles fan and he got my sister and I into them and we are both close to our uncle.

Other music favorites: Death Cab for Cutie, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Owl City, Coldplay, Relient K, She & Him, Taylor Swift, 3OH!3, OneRepublic, Hillsong United, Katy Perry, The Chariot, and Hepafilter.

Hepafilter

The last two are hardcore bands-one is an awesome band that everyone should listen to and Hepafilter is a band that is very close to my heart-it is my husband’s band. They are a great group of guys who love making music together and that is their band. They are fun to watch and they are have fun doing it and I believe that is what performing music is all about-having fun.

One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain. -Bob Marley

Bucket List of Music: I really want to see some bands in concert-some of them my husband just rolls his eyes at, but that’s ok. Coldplay is at the top of that list. I have literally missed out on 3 opportunities to see them and it has killed me! Another 2 are Katy Perry and Taylor, that is my girl side coming out. I was so close to seeing Taylor Swift, but it ended up not happening, and after seeing pictures from her tour, I’m sad I missed out. Myke will probably go see Katy Perry-he can at least stand her, but Taylor Swift would have to be with Brie-if she wants to go 🙂

Music may not overtake my life, but it is definitely a huge part of it. I love music and it will forever be a part of my life.

Life is one grand, sweet song, so start the music. -Ronald Reagan
