Let’s Go Out for Valentine’s Day!
With Valentine’s Day being on a Friday, Myke wanted to take me out. Now I’m not big on going out for Valentine’s Day because EVERYONE does. With that being said, the last few Valentine’s I have been either pregnant or unable to go out due to finances.
Myke has always done an incredible job at making me feel special on this day and he didn’t want this year to be any different. He likes to surprise me, which I like but don’t like. He tells me what would be comfortable to wear and that’s about it.
I have always loved celebrating holidays, but now that I have kids it makes it even more fun to celebrate. How can you have kids and not want to dress them up on holidays?! My mother in law usually gets them something for the holidays, which I love because she loves it and the girls love getting presents from Mimi and Pops.
We did the Easter baskets for the first time this past year and so I thought for Valentine’s Day we should do a little something for them again. Obviously they are still a tad young for many things, but we thought it would be super fun to do a little something for them. I didn’t want Myke to miss out on the little gifts for the girls, so we decided to do their gifts on Saturday morning. The baskets included a notebook with the magic marker to color, books, and chalk for Olivia, and both girls got Ryan and Wren clips for their hair. I even snagged one for myself-they are $5 each and absolutely adorable.
Myke took me to a restaurant in Sac called Sauced in downtown. It was so much fun! The food was beyond amazing-especially the Brussel sprouts we had as a starter. They have a super cool activity in the restaurant: ax throwing. It does cost extra, but it looks like it would be way more fun with a group of people. The noise and the cheering is a bit of a bother at first, but after a few minutes, it becomes part of the atmosphere and you get excited when people hit the target. We will definitely be back for more, especially since I picked out at least three things on the menu I need to try. The menu is pretty diverse too-pulled pork (what I got), the burgers looked amazing, hot dogs, and the salads looked fantastic. If you are in the area, I would highly recommend it.
