Hello and Welcome Back!
Hello internet and welcome back! I have been taking a little break from blogging for a little bit to regroup and figure out what exactly I’m supposed to be doing. As of right now, I still haven’t figured it out, but I’ve been doing a lot of writing, even though I wasn’t posting, which I’m very excited to be sharing with you. We have many things to talk about like Myke and Allison Adventures, happenings at our church in LA, and of course our little Fin. To get started, let’s talk about the 3 slash 4 day weekend we had!
The past two years, Myke and I have always gone somewhere, this year we decided to go to Sacramento and see both sets of parents so they can meet Fin. You will hear more from Fin about his time in Sac later this week.
I had Friday off, my job blesses me with a 4 day weekend for Labor Day and I took full advantage of that. I flew up to Sac Friday morning and spent the day with my mom running errands, having dinner with her and my grandmother and then waiting for my boys to come in. Fin did really well our first night, given that it was a new place, he was just in the car for 8+ hours and it was time for bed already. We stayed up a little bit and got him used to the new place and he went right to sleep. The next day Myke took him to a dog park while I went shopping with my family. Sunday was beach day and it was so great! My in laws found this little oasis about 2 hours north of Sac. It has a little hiking trail and everything. Myke and I took Fin on the trail and got to the top of the little hill and had a beautiful view. We then roasted hot dogs in the fire, sat and talked with his parents, got Fin used to the beach, then we roasted marshmallows-one of my favorite things to do. I went on the hike so I felt like I deserved that.
Monday we drove back. It was nice to get down our routine for driving with Fin. We stopped every couple hours to let him (and us) stretch/get gas or food. IT actually worked out very well.
Over all the trip was a raving success. Nothing like getting away for a little while to relax and spend time with people you love.
