H54F: Family Edition

When it comes to the blog, I have felt really off my game this week. Even though it was crazy busy and some not so good things happen, there were still a few highlights…

1. Next week is Fourth of July and I’m super pumped about that! I not only get the day off, but I get Thursday AND the next Monday off. How awesome is that? Of course those won’t be official days off because I will be working on blog stuff and Print stuff. I’m excited for some productive days. We are having a Bar-B-Q and Blues Celebration at our church and Myke and I will be shooting a little video of the whole event. We have face painting for kids, chili cook off, and a pie bake off. It’s always a good time, the only thing I would change is the weather. It gets nasty hot outside.

2. If you haven’t heard, Old Navy is having a KILLER sale! Myke and I went out last night and got some fun items for the 4th and another pair of pants for me! There will be a few outfit posts in those bad boys.

3. Now for the bad news/good news. Myke and I did not get into the Nike Women’s Half Marathon. It was a random draw, but there was a part of me that was a lot more upset then I should have been. However, Myke came to the rescue when he found another half marathon we could do. This one is even better: 1. It’s all flat ground 2. It’s 2 weeks before the Nike one and 3. the best part of the whole thing, it’s in Sacramento! Where both of our parents are. There is far less travel for them and technically for us too. So the adventure is still taking place and I will be able to complete my half marathon in 2014! It’s called Urban Cow.

4. Our church BOOM community groups are starting up again this Sunday and I’m so excited. This is when Myke and I have people over and we eat, watch a video, and discuss when was in the video. It’s a good time for us to invite people to our home and love on them. It’s a good feeling for me.

5. My family is coming into town this weekend. They have never seen the Paramount lot, so I will be taking them on a tour tomorrow. I always get excited when our families come to visit. Since we live so far away, we don’t get the opportunity to see them as often as we would like. It’s always a nice treat.
