I have always been a big fan of Birchbox. I have loved at least a few things in every single box. This month was the first month that I was a little disappointed. I had chosen one sample that I am very excited to try and there is a highlighter that I look forward to using, however the other items in my box were items that I had specified in my profile that I did not want, plus two of the items are samples that my husband got in his September Man Box.
I understand that there is no way for them to know this, so there is no reason to be upset. I have read stories and watched Unboxing videos when similar events have occurred. Many times the subscriber has claimed that it is the third or fourth time it has happened and they are threaten to cancel their accounts.
I am happy to say that I’m not at this point, but there was a part of me that was a little sad. For the whole month Birchbox is celebrating 4 years and for that I am very excited for them. They also were celebrating Customer Appreciation on September 19. We were told that some subscribers would have the special treat of an at home or work surprise from a Birchbox rep. I knew there were thousands of subscribers, so I wasn’t going to get anything. I also witnessed many ladies lining up at the Birchbox shop in New York to get some fun goodies.
I would love to line up in those long lines and build a box for me or my husband, but I live on the other side of the country. I hope that one day they will build a store here in LA. I would be the first in line to apply for a job and to build my own box.
In a nutshell, Birchbox-this month was rough, but we’re okay.
