Apartment Makeover

I love my apartment. We have been here for about 2 years now and we love the space and we love the area. Unfortunately, as much as I love to decorate, we never had the time or the resources to make our apartment go from our place of living, to a home.

Before we went to Florida, my mother approached me and Myke with a very special idea. She and her friend Martha, who helped me plan my wedding, wanted to come to our apartment while we were in Florida and make the place over. They would do what they wanted and buy what they thought would be nice, then we would come home, look at the place and if we didn’t like something, return it and buy something we did want.

No pressure, no feelings would be hurt, no harm, and no foul. We said yes and while we were flying home I got a little nervous. I wasn’t sure what they were doing, but I knew bits and pieces. I knew they were bringing a hutch for me to store my wedding china in which I had been wanting since I got married and they were taking my old childhood dresser and painting it for us.

I had seen the pictures of both and loved them, but I didn’t know what to expect for the rest. Needless to say, my mind was blown.

Most of the purchases were from Home Goods and from antique stores all over California. I’m so grateful for my mom and Martha, they are so wonderful and I’m so thankful for them both. Thanks again Mom and Martha we are still loving it!
