A Pen Pal [finally]

It’s been hard to be so far away from my sister in law while she has been wedding planning. I know she has her roommates and her maid of honor, but there is something so unique about being able to help out during a wedding and I’m sad that I’m not there to witness it all coming together. Facebook and text are certainly helping, but I started to think about how I had felt while I was planning to marry the love of my life. I felt scared, nervous, alone, and excited all at once. It was very strange. With that in mind I decided to write Niana a little note. I decided to hand write it and actually send it to her. I figured it would be nice to get something in the mail besides ads or wedding crap. About a week later, I got a letter in the mail from her. I almost cried.

For some odd reason, I have always wanted a pen pal. I had one for a while when I was in high school, I had lived with the young girl for a week and we kept in touch a few months after I got home. Unfortunately, life and schedules got in the way and we lost touch. I guess one reason why I have wanted one is my grandmother has had one since she was in 4th grade. How awesome is that?! She lives in England and she has actually gone over and visited her a couple times, it’s so cool.

So I’m happy to report, I have a pen pal. Until she moves to California, I plan on bombarding her cute cards and encouraging words.
