Myke’s Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookies (Thanks Joanna Gaines)
I’ve always had a dream of baking for my family, like on a weekly basis. Cookies are my specialty right now and ever since I found out I was pregnant with Olivia, I’ve been on the hunt for a classic chocolate chip cookie recipe. One to make for my girls after a long day at school. One where they would have no problem grabbing and pouring some milk to enjoy with Daddy on a Friday night. One that will be easy to include the girls once they are old enough and one that the family will enjoy having in the family cookie jar.
One of my favorite things to collect is cookbooks. I like reading through them and marking good recipes to try. Unless the book is already focused on sweets, the first thing I do is flip to the very back because that’s where the dessert section is. A couple of years ago, Myke gave me Magnolia Table by Joanna Gaines and I read through the whole book and then the dessert section twice.
I came across the chocolate chip cookies and I just knew I had to make them!
I’m on my special weight loss diet, so I can’t indulge in too many, but Myke is happy to help me out. These are hist #1 favorite cookie. After he had his first bite he officially dubbed these the only cookie I’m allowed to make. Ok, he’s not serious, but he’s made me make them at least 5 times in the last 6 months.
These things are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. If you have them straight out of the oven, they are like warm hugs in your tummy. When they are cool, they are what I think heaven would taste like. So thanks Joanna Gaines for making my cookie baking dreams come true.

Super good! We made a few adjustments for our family, but that’s the beauty of this cookbook, the recipes are made for people to make them their own and I love that. Joanna knows best 🙂
