Five Things
One of my favorite blogs to follow is Cupcakes and Cashmere. I started following her at the beginning of my blogging journey and she has always been one of my daily reads. One thing I love most about her is she lives in LA and it’s fun to follow people that live in the same area you do. A post I always look forward to are Five Things. Every Friday Emily posts five things that happened during the week that made her happy, they are usually very simple or small things, but that is the beauty of the idea. Focusing on smaller things that make you happy. I am trying to do more of that and so I have been inspired by her to do the same on my own blog. A post that focuses on the things that happened during the week that made me happy.
This week seemed long, but the days seemed short. I wasn’t feeling so hot the first half of the week, but I got a lot of sleep on Wednesday with my sick husband and we both felt so much better Thursday and Friday.
- Super Bowl was fun as always. I just wish I was more into the game. The commercials were great, but I was just so exhausted from the weekend of fun we had already had. Mikah, our pastor’s son, had his birthday party on Saturday so it was a day full of cake and fun.
- I worked a double shift this past Tuesday night. That meant I arrived at work at 9 am and left work at 10:30 pm. The tour itself was a little bland, however I got a wonderful surprise at the end of the night. These tours were for another company on the lot and at the end of the night, the company surprised us all with handwritten thank you cards for staying over along with a $50 Visa card. I was very grateful for the blessing that was given to me while I was in a not so nice situation.
- New things have been added to Netflix: Friends in January and now it looks like they made a deal with A&E and a lot of shows have been updated like Shipping Wars and Pawn Stars. Good time killing shows if you are interested.
- Harper Lee wrote another book! Well like 50 years ago, but the book that is meant to be a sequel to the amazing book To Kill a Mockingbird is supposed to be published soon. However after having reading this great article on Buzz Feed, who knows if it will be published or not, but the idea that there may be another book out there written in the same light as To Kill a Mockingbird, one of my favorite books, makes me happy.
- Myke and I took the plunge and got the iPhone 6 plus. Yes, those “huge” iPhones. I have to admit, they are not as big as I thought they were going to be. The reasons I liked this one is it has better battery life, the resolution is great so videos and pictures look beautiful, and its a lot easier for me to text. Since the screen is bigger, the keyboard is bigger and I don’t make as many typos.
