Easter Recap
Hello and long time no see. Sometime soon, I will have to update you all on what has been happening here in our little corner of the world. Nothing crazy or extremely life changing, but busy nonetheless. Even though it has been hot here in LA, there is still something so beautiful about Spring. This time of year has that special time of the year, things are growing and the sun is out. Another reason I get so excited for this time of year is Easter.
Typically around this time I go on a missions trip. I haven’t been on a missions trip since 2011, but I’m hopeful that I will be going on one very soon. Even though I’m not going on one around this time, it is still a beautiful season. It’s always a time to reflect on what Jesus did for the sins of the world. It’s amazing to think about Christ dying on the cross, painful and humiliating. Three days later he rose from the grave, the coolest thing ever! I love celebrating the love Jesus has for us. I’ve been thinking a lot about this the past week. I have had a stressful personal week and I just was so busy it was difficult to keep track of everything. In bullet points: work is stressful, I’m struggling with liking the way I look, and I’m worrying a lot about what the future has in store for me. On Sunday morning, I woke up later than I should have, so I was unable to do my hair the way I wanted to, I messed up my make up, and I felt uncomfortable with the way I looked. #firstworldproblems
When we got to church, we prayed for our service and during that time I started to feel a lighten of most of the things I was worried about. My friend helped me with finalizing my make up and she made me spirit feel a little lighter. Then first service came. I was nervous and my heart was pounding. I closed my eyes, and raised my hands to my God and surrendered this time to Him. I heard a whisper “you are beautiful to me, my daughter.” I felt tears in my eyes, I knew that voice. I sang and jumped during worship and I felt so light.
My problems are not gone and I still am worried. However, as 1 Peter 5:7 tells us, I cast all my worries and anxieties on Him every time and I try to better myself every day.
Scroll down to see some fun shots from Easter Sunday. My in laws were able to come join us and I’m so excited they did. We discovered a new restaurant called Malibu Farm and if you are in the LA area, make the drive to Malibu pier to get a taste of this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.
The food and the view was unbeatable. All Myke and I could talk about were the people we were going to bring back here.
Fun purple shoes for Easter Sunday!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!
