Myke’s Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookies
I’ve been looking to build my recipe book, looking for good recipes to always have on hand. Myke is a big fan of cookies and one night he wanted chocolate chip cookies and I was hoping to find a good classic recipe to have. I turned to Pinterest and found this one and it is a huge hit! Myke has requested it a couple time since and what makes it even better is the recipe is so simple!
8 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt (I usually put in another one)
3/4 cup chocolate chips
Oven: 350
Makes: 12 cookies
Microwave butter for a little bit, until it’s barely melted. Beat butter and sugars until creamy. Then add vanilla and the egg, beat until all are incorporated. Add flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until crumbles form and then use your hands to smash in chocolate chips. The dough should be in between wet and dry. then roll dough into balls and place on cookie sheet. In my oven, it takes 10 minutes to cook. When I baked them at my friend’s house it took about 15 minutes. Keep in mind that ovens are different. I wouls say 9-13 minutes.
Eat them about 15 minutes after they are out of the oven. They are amazing warm!
