H54F: Parents
Friday. The end of the week. As always, I look forward to Friday and to the weekend. I have seriously noticed in the past year, Myke and my weekends have been full to the brim. We always tell people, most of our weekends are busy, we do church things, things for our business, and for our blogs. That’s why when we have a Saturday morning free or Sunday afternoon, we take it very seriously and relax. Sadly, this weekend is no exception, we have a weekend full of activities. But today, I’m looking back on a pretty good week and looking forward to a packed weekend that oddly has a theme of parenting.
1. Today marks the day that my parents tied the knot 33 years ago. My parents got married July 25, 1981 in the same church I did. They did so much for me growing up and even though I am married, they still do more than they have to. They are amazing parents. Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!
2. I have always liked getting cards in the mail. Ever since I was young, my mom always ingrained in me to always send cards for any occasion-birthdays, thank you, congratulations, sympathy, etc. This past year I have failed miserably at this. After my birthday I decided to get a little box to keep some extra cards. This past week, I ordered the cutest and greatest cards for two birthdays coming up next week, so I’m looking forward to receiving those and sending those out.
3. Yesterday marks one week until I get to use the beauty that is my Day Designer. I got it for my birthday and I’ve been chomping at the bit to use this bad boy.
4. This past Tuesday, I went to a dinner with my beautiful friends at church. The pastors threw it to say thank you for all of our hard work in the children’s ministry. I love working with the kids of this church and we have done some great things in the program. The only way to go is forward.
5. Speaking of church kids, Myke and I will be watching our pastor’s kids for the whole day. We are calling it parents for a day and I have to admit, I’m a little nervous, but I’m choosing it to look at it as good practice for the future. We have a special heart for these pastor kids, mostly because Myke is one himself, also they are amazing kids. You will hear more about it on Monday!
Happy Weekend! Hope it’s a good one.
