Audible the App
I have missed reading. I always think I will have time to sit and read, but I end up being too tired or not having enough time in the day. Myke works at a computer all day, so he actually gets a lot reading done by using the app Audible, a monthly subscription that gives you credit to purchase audio books. I never really listened to audio books growing up because I loved reading so much. Myke is also an auditory learner and I am not so it benefits him.
About a month ago, I expressed my disappointment that I had not been able to read for quite some time and my husband suggested I try using Audible for my rides to and from work. I drive at least 45 minutes to and from work and I could enjoy a couple chapters a day. I decided to give it another try with a book that I had been wanting to read for a while, Melissa Explains it all by Melissa Joan Hart, one of my favorite actresses growing up and still a favorite to this day.
One of my favorite things I love about Audible is if it is a biography, which I love reading, they get the person who wrote it. It’s so much fun listening to the person and their story in their own voice. You can listen to how the story was meant to be told. I’m looking to try more books read by authors and othersI’m so excited that I actually look for books to listen to via Audible. The more I use the app the more I like it, that’s a lot coming from someone who used to roll her eyes when thinking about audio books.
These are books I have read and would highly recommend, especially through Audible:
Melissa Explains It All written and read by Melissa Joan Hart
There Was A Little Girl: The Real Story of My Mother and Me written and read by Brooke Shields
Food: A Love Story written and read by Jim Gaffigan
On my Future Playlist:
Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand
American Sniper by Chris Kyle, Scott McEwan, and Jim DeFelice
Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain
Eat Love Pray by Elizabeth Gilbert
Foxcatcher by Mark Schultz and David Thomas
Julie and Julia by Julie Powell
Suck It Wonder Woman by Olivia Munn and Mac Montandon
Humble Pie by Gordon Ramsay
The Elephant to Hollywood by Michael Caine
By Myself and Then Some by Lauren Bacall
Wonderful Tonight by Pattie Boyd and Penny Junor
It looks like I have some reading to do…
What are some books you like to read or listen to?
