Puddle Cake

A recipe from my mom's childhood and the 1960's!

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 ½ Cups Flour
  • 3 tbsp Cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 6 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 1 tbsp Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 Cup Cold water

Instructions

  • Sift flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, and salt into ungreased pan.
  • Make three puddles using oil, vinegar, and vanilla
  • Pour cold water over top and stir until mixed.
  • Bake at 305° F (Metal Pan) or 325° F (Glass Pan) for 25-30 min, or until done.
