Small Valentines Day Suggestions

When Myke and I first started dating, Myke wasn’t a big fan of Valentines Day. He never saw the point in doing something special to show he loves me when he could do that every day. I agree to a point, but I still wouldn’t mind getting a little something for Valentine’s Day. The last few years I have had to work on Valentine’s Day or we just stayed in because we didn’t want to get swallowed by everyone else out on this special day. I’m the first to admit, I do not mind staying in one bit, my favorite thing to do with Myke is to stay in with him and watch TV.

Here are some ideas that Myke and I have done in the past and hope to do for future Valentines days and nights.

Visit your significant other at work

Myke did this on our first Valentines Day. I was working as the coffeeshop night manager at our old school that was a hour away from our home. At the time, we had two cars and so drove an hour with flowers and we got a pizza from one of our old lunch places on our campus. It still remains one of my fondest memories from our first year of marriage.

Indoor Picnic

Since I had to work, Myke did this for me the weekend of Valentines when we were first married. One of our favorite comfort meals is grilled cheese and tomato soup and Myke wanted to do something nice since I had to work. So he put it all together for me while I was in the shower on Saturday night.

His/Her Movie

While you are having your picnic, if you would like to watch a movie during or after, might I suggest you each pick a movie. Myke and I both have long lists of movies we want the other one to see, and Valentines is a perfect time to show the other one you love them by watching a movie you aren’t to excited about.
